Welcome to our Summer newsletter! We have so much to share from the past six months — it’s been so much fun and lovely to see so many people enjoying themselves.

A Wonderful Start to 2025
Our year began on a high note with a very special 70th birthday lunch. The afternoon ended in style with a set of lively Irish jigs, and yes, the birthday girl was up dancing too! It was such a heart-warming and memorable celebration.

Sunshine & Strings
Summer has been dry and warm so far, which means we’ve been lucky enough to play plenty of outdoor events. As long as there’s a little shade, we absolutely love performing al fresco for you and your guests. We now have a new custom-made shelter to keep the drizzle at bay, so when we have rain in the middle of beautiful sunshine we can continue play without having to venture indoors.  Our strings really do not like getting wet at all!

Weddings, Weddings, Weddings
We’ve had the honour of playing at so many beautiful weddings already this year. Highlights include:

  • St Paul’s Church, Hempstead: Our first wedding of the year featured music throughout the service, including hymn accompaniment — a true pleasure.
  • Manor by the Lake: Lots of spring and summer weddings here, we love playing at this beautiful venue throughout the year. We also enjoyed being a part of their recent wedding open evening.
  • Birtsmorton Court: We braved some spring drizzle (with the help of our new shelter!) and enjoyed a lovely wedding open day, and many outdoor ceremonies – still more to come too.
  • Bredenbury Court Barns: The bride’s entrance to Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You was breathtaking.
  • Brinsop Court: In mid-May sunshine, we played Jamming by Bob Marley for a joyful recessional.
  • Hyde House: Despite the wet and windy weather, we were warm, dry, and full of music inside for a classic British bank holiday wedding.
  • Elmore Court: This June wedding had it all with Enchanted for the aisle walk, a heartfelt performance by the bride’s sister that we were proud to accompany, and plenty of Pink Gin, Aperol Spritz and garden games.
  • St Edward’s Church, Stow: A serene escape from the heat for a picturesque Cotswolds ceremony.

Homme House: Rain couldn’t dampen spirits at this beautiful venue in June.

Special Celebrations
We were honoured to play at the New Model Institute for Technology and Engineering’s first Degree ceremony at Hereford Cathedral. It was a truly uplifting day, celebrating the next generation of innovators.

We also supported a lovely family at a celebration of life in Pensax, held at the beautiful Bell Inn. It was an honour to provide a musical tribute to a much-loved Mum and Grandma.

Smiles & Spotlights

A huge thank you to Liam Gingell Photography for capturing some lovely shots of us at Manor by the Lake. We’re usually too busy playing to take pictures, so it was a real treat to have some moments captured.

We were also proud to be named Supplier of the Month by Manor by the Lake. Thank you for showcasing Capriccio Quartet. We’ve loved meeting new couples and fellow suppliers!

Polo, Parties & Paphitis
We swapped string sections for side-lines at Beaufort Polo Club, playing at their charity event with help from our speaker system to reach the crowds around the field.

And we were delighted to once again be part of Theo Paphitis’ Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot, helping raise an incredible £75,000 for wonderful causes including Starlight, CoppaFeel, Helen Arkell, and the British Dyslexia Association.

CQ Turns 24!
Yes, we celebrated our 24th birthday this year! Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this incredible journey, we couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank You
As always, we are so grateful for all your bookings, support, and kind words. It’s been a magical first half of 2025, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings.
