Lynette Webster from Malvern, Worcestershire dreamt of forming a quartet and playing for special occasions, events and weddings. On her Fathers birthday, 21 years ago, she had the opportunity to play for him and their guests, it sparked a real passion for entertaining with live music and Capriccio Quartet was born.
Today, founding members Lynette and Graham Gunter along with Cecily Howick who has been a huge part of the quartet for nine years and a regular group of players known affectionately as Team Capriccio, spend their days making their customer’s events that little extra special with live string music. To date, they have played at more than 144 events this year. What makes Capriccio Quartet special is the extra care and attention that Lynette and the team give to each performance, each one is unique and planned especially for that couple.
True professionals, their repertoire knows no bounds, only this week they were playing Nigerian music for a wedding and are only too happy to expand their repertoire when requested.
Lynette Webster, Founder says “Capriccio Quartet has been all-consuming but a wonderful and exciting experience for us all. We have had such support from our family and friends, which has been wonderful, and much needed at times. Although the pandemic left us putting our strings and bows away, we have come out the other side and are now busier than ever.”
She continues “We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our clients and guests over the past 21 years, we are so grateful that you chose us to be a part of your special day.”
The Quartet has played from as far afield as Monaco for the boat show at The Hotel De Paris to Bristol, Bath and some of Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire’s best wedding venues and has developed great relationships with them all. Whether they are playing inside or outside the venue, their sound is always beautiful and warmly received.
Capriccio Quartet was Regional Highly Commended by the 2022 Wedding Industry Awards, Global Round Winner in 2021 for International Wedding Awards, National Highly Commended by The Wedding Business Awards 2020 as well as Theo Pathitas’ #SBS official winners. The string quartet will also be featured as a recommended Platinum Provider in Weddings and Honeymoons July 2022 magazine issue.
