February News For Capriccio Quartet
February is usually one of our quieter months but this year we have kept busy with our performances and planning more events. We have visited Cheltenham Manor By The Lake, (where we are preferred suppliers) regularly this month and we can always be sure of a warm welcome there from their very supportive staff. We love admiring the imaginative wedding flower arrangements created by the talented florists and are always amazed at the diversity especially at this time of year when the choice is more limited. We are so lucky to see the end result of weddings which have been months in the planning and it’s always so special to see the guests arrive, the excitement mounting and finally the entrance of the bridal party. This is where we feel we are an important part of the day as our performance really reflects the mood of the day, whether it is our music before the ceremony, that all important processional, the signing of the register and finally the exit of the newly married bride and groom, to loud cheers!
After the ceremony we really enjoy ourselves as we perform music for the drinks ceremony and we love playing music which our couples have chosen and which reflects the more relaxed part of their day. We strongly believe that there is no substitute for live music and it provides a special touch to the day. Every wedding is unique and we believe in tailoring each one to our couples’ musical taste, with excellent guidance from Lynette whose expertise will help their choices. Our Repertoire List is available to download, either on our website or on our Capriccio Quartet App.
A very special event which took place this month was the #SBS Small Business Sunday Conference which was held at the International Convention Centre in Birmingham and as winners, we were invited to take part and to entertain delegates between sessions. The event was organised by Theo Paphitis and is a fantastic opportunity to hear success stories from those who have built up their businesses from nothing. There was a lot of sound advice for us to listen to and take on board and we have got a few ideas up our sleeves to widen our business horizons! We enjoyed some really favourable feedback especially from our Twitter and Instagram followers and hope to be further involved in the future.
We were thrilled to receive our Local Round Award for Wedding Musicians from the International Wedding Award 2023! This has given us a real boost and an endorsement that the service which we strive to provide is along the right lines!
We’re excited to have been invited to take part in an Open Day for couples at Birtsmorton Court, a beautiful historical moated building in stunning grounds in the heart of Worcestershire. It’s always lovely to chat to our prospective couples and their friends and families and to invite them to request their favourite pieces of music. We’ll be reporting back next month about our day there!
