This month has been incredibly busy for the quartet with a record number of weddings, many of which had been postponed at least once during the past 16 months. We are so grateful to our couples for keeping our bookings with them and we understand how difficult and stressful it must have been to have to rearrange their dates.
We have had the pleasure of playing for three lovely church wedding services in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire this month and accompanying hymns at one of these.
A first for Capriccio Quartet was an invitation to perform during a carefully planned wedding proposal which took place in the historic setting of the Palm Court Suite at the Marriott Hotel in Bristol. We played “Your Song” by Elton John as the unsuspecting bride-to-be entered the room (she said yes!) and other love songs as the couple shared a bottle of champagne.
We were invited to perform for the opening of the newly converted and refurbished Battenhall Retirement Village in Worcester and were lucky enough to play in the Elgar Room, where the composer once performed. The event was attended by the Mayor of the city, other dignitaries and those involved in this exciting project.
Finally we received some very exciting news – we have recently been awarded the Country Rounds Winner for 2021 of the International Wedding Awards; a great boost after such a difficult year for us and many in the wedding industry. We do our best to achieve the highest standards for every event we play for so it is really rewarding to receive this accolade.
